Mobile Hotspots

Mobile Hotspots

You can now check out a Franklin Wireless R850 mobile hotspot as part of the library's This 'n That Collection!

These portable, easy-to-use hotspots allow you to connect any of your
Wi-Fi enabled devices to the Internet, using Sprint's 4G LTE network.

Guidelines for Borrowing

*Hotspots may only be checked out to patrons who are 18 years of age or older whose library account is in good standing.

*All users must read the Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots Policy and sign the Mobile Hotspot User Agreement prior to checking out a device.

*Hotspots circulate for 2 weeks.

*Hotspots must be returned inside the library to the circulation desk.

*Wireless service to the device will be disabled if the hotspot is not returned on or before its due date.

Schedule of Fees

There is no cost to borrow or use a Briggs Library mobile hotspot, however:

*Overdue hotspots accrue late fines at the rate of $1.00/day

*Patron accounts will be assessed a fee of $25.00 for placing a hotspot in a library dropbox.

*If a hotspot is lost or damaged, patrons will be charged a $70.00 replacement fee.

*Each component that circulates with a hotspot has its own replacement cost.  A complete schedule of fees is included in the Mobile Hotspot User Agreement, and a copy circulates with each hotspot.

Using a Hotspot

A Briggs Library hotspot can be used anywhere a strong Sprint cellular signal is available to connect any Wi-Fi enabled device to the Internet.

Check the coverage map to see if your current location is an area that receives a strong Sprint signal.
