About the Board
The Briggs District Library Board exists to responsibly manage the Library's resources with the mission of providing easily accessible services, materials, and programs to people of all ages in order to meet their evolving recreational, cultural, informational, and educational needs.
The Board consists of seven members -- three appointed by the City Commission of the City of St. Johns, and four appointed by the St. Johns Public Schools Board of Education. Board members are appointed to four-year terms, and are eligible for re-appointment to a second consecutive four-year term.

If you have interest in serving on the Briggs District Library Board, information about the Board and an application can be found here. Completed applications can be submitted to the library or to Library Director Sara Morrison at director@briggsdistrictlibrary.org. The Board of Trustees will review applications as positions for appointment become available.

The Library Board meets a minimum of six times throughout the year, will additional meetings scheduled at the discretion of the Board Chair. The meetings are held the second Thursday of the month, with exceptions noted below, at 6:00p.m. in the Briggs Library Meeting Room. The Briggs District Library is barrier-free. The meetings are open to all members of the public under Michigan's Open Meetings Act. For further information, contact the Library at (989) 224-4702.
