Library Donations

There are a variety of ways to donate to the Briggs District Library.

1. Monetary donations - Any amount is welcome and appreciated at the Library.  By filling out our donation worksheet, you are able to designate your money to specific needs of the Library, for example, technology, programs, or materials. You may also make a donation in honor or memory of another individual.

2. Materials donations - New and like-new books or movies can be donated to the library for use in our used book sales. Material donations will ONLY be accepted when meeting the following guidelines:

  • Donated materials will only be accepted Saturdays during our book sales

  • Donated materials should be clean -- no dirt, mold, stains, torn covers/pages, etc.

  • Donated materials should be published within the last 10 years

  • Donated materials should be limited to a quantity that can fit in one paper grocery bag

3.  Used Book Sale - *SUSPENDED* Regular Saturday book sales are suspended this summer, but will return in September. Join us Mint Festival Weekend, Saturday, August 13 for a used book/garage sale being held in our warehouse from 11:00am-6:00pm.  Used book sales will be held each Saturday the library is open, during normal operating hours -- currently, 10:00am - 3:00pm. Books are sold on a donation basis. Book donations are accepted during our used book sales, if they meet the criteria listed above. New materials will be added each week.

4.  Fundraisers - The Library participates in various fundraising events throughout the year.  Past events have included a Schwan's Truckload Sale, Cards for a Cause, Usborne Book Fairs, VHS movie sale and a garage sale.  Your support in these fundraisers is greatly appreciated!

5. Special Collections for our community - During the month of February 2022, we are collecting items for our local Baby Pantry. Click here for a list of requested items.

Please contact the Library at 989-224-4702 with any questions you have about making a donation.  Thank you for thinking of Briggs Library; we appreciate your generosity!
